How to use the unscrambler
Type the letters you have into the input box. The tool finds every valid English word that uses some or all of those letters — sorted by length so the highest-scoring options appear first. Use ? for a blank tile (wildcard); each blank matches any single letter.
For Scrabble and Words With Friends
Both games use a similar word set, but with one key difference: SOWPODS (international Scrabble) includes a few thousand more words than TWL (North American Scrabble). This tool uses a general English word list that covers most legal plays in both, but always check with the official lexicon for tournament play. Words With Friends uses its own list (the Enhanced North American Benchmark Lexicon) which differs slightly from both.
For Wordle hints
If you've narrowed Wordle to a known set of letters and a known position, use the "Must contain" filter to require certain letters. The tool will show only words that include them.
Frequently asked questions
Why isn't a word I expected showing up?
The dictionary excludes capitalized words (proper nouns) and contains only words 2–10 letters long. Some game-legal but obscure words from the official Scrabble lexicons may also be missing.
Can I use this offline?
The dictionary loads once on first use. After that it's cached in your browser and the tool works offline.
Is my input sent anywhere?
Only the dictionary file is fetched (a one-time download). Your letter input never leaves your browser.
